Global Warming: Disappearing World

Reserachers in Kolkata’s Jadavpur University after 6 years of research has found that couple of islands in the Sunderban delta have gone under the sea. In couple of year’s time rising seas level , will soon make 70,000 people homeless. And I think, in maybe couple of years this number is going to touch few millions.

Its high time we start worrying about the effect of Industrialization on the environment.

THE FOUR CANDLES!!!

The four candles burn slowly
The ambiance was so soft you could hear them talking.
The first on said
“I AM PEACE!
However no can keep me lit,
I believe i will go out”
Its flame rapidly diminishes and goes out completely.
The second one said
” I AM FAITH!
Most of all, i am no
Longer indispensable,
So it doesn’t make any sense
That i stay lit any longer.”
When it finished talking, a breeze softly blew on it putting it out.

Sadly, the third spoke in its turn
“I AM LOVE
I have got the strength
To stay lit. people put me aside
And don’t understand my importance.
They even forget to love those
Who are nearest to them.”
And waiting no longer it goes out.

Suddenly…
A child enters the room and sees three candles no burning
” why are you not burning?
You are suppose to stay lit
Till the end.”
Saying this the child begins to cry..

Then the fourth candle said
” don’t be afraid while i am
Still burning
We can relight the other candles,
I AM HOPE! ”
With shining eyes, the child took the candle of hope and lit the other candles.
The flame of hope should never go out from your life and that each of us can maintain HOPE, FAITH, PEACE and LOVE!

A man checked into a hotel. There was a computer in his room, so he decided to send an e-mail to his wife. However, he accidentally typed wrong e-mail address, and without realizing his error, he sent the e-mail.

Meanwhile… somewhere, a widow had just returned home from her husband’s funeral. The widow decided to check her e-mail, expecting messages from relatives and friends. After reading the first message, she fainted. The widow’s son rushed into the room, found his mother on the floor, and saw the computer screen which read:

To: My Loving Wife
Subject: I’ve Reached Safely
Date: 21 st July, 2004

I know you’re surprised to hear from me. They have computers here now, and we are allowed to send e-mails to our loved ones. I’ve just reached safely and have been checked in. I see that everything has been prepared for your arrival tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing you then! Hope your journey is as uneventful as mine was …

A Visit to a Warship INS VIKRANT…… A MEMORY TO CHERISH

I was just watching the news about the new INDIAN WARSHIP and recollected some good old school days where we had a school trip to visit a WARSHIP AT COLABA…. it was “INS VIKRANT”.

INS Vikrant

INS VIKRANT was india’s first Aircraft carrier and now it is a floating museum.

INS Vikrant

As a school kid the entire experience was mesmerizing… it was scary at few areas… as there were no lights at some corridors and rooms… but the moment we reached the top (basically a runway for the aircraft) everything seemed so beautiful….. sound of waves, we schools kids talking to each other… there was no end to the water…. at some places steps to climb were made of rope…. it was so scary to climb… to get into the warship we had to go thru a wooden bridge…. WHOOPS many of us were scared to move thru that bridge.

IT WAS AN UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE….

INS Vikrant - now as Museum

Small decisions

The small decisions have a big influence on your life because you make so many of them, all day, every day. The small decisions are the ones that keep you focused and moving ahead.

Sure, the big decisions, that you pay a lot of attention to, will set the direction for your life. However, the small decisions are what deliver and maintain that direction.

Small decisions come so fast and so frequently that you can’t possibly have time to think through each one. That’s why the way to effectively take positive control of those small decisions is to develop positive habits.

Instead of thinking through each small decision, program those decisions into your behavior. Instead of being constantly tempted to wander away from the path you’ve chosen, make it your second nature to keep yourself positively focused on what really matters.

Get all the powerful small decisions working in your favor by making them into solid, repeating habits. Invest in creating positive habits in your life, and your investment will continue to pay valuable dividends each day.

Every moment is a choice. Create powerful, positive habits for yourself and all those choices will lead you precisely where you wish to go.

WELCOME TO THE STOCK MARKET!!!

Once upon a time in a village, a man appeared and announced to the

villagers that he would buy monkeys for Rs10.

The villagers seeing that there were many monkeys around, went out to the
forest and started catching them.

The man bought thousands at Rs10 and as supply started to diminish, the
villagers stopped their effort. He further announced that he would now
buy at Rs20. This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started
catching monkeys again.

Soon the supply diminished even further and people started going back to
their farms. The offer rate increased to Rs25 and the supply of monkeys
became so little that it was an effort to even see a monkey, let alone
catch it!

The man now announced that he would buy monkeys at Rs50! However, since
he had to go to the city on some business, his assistant would now buy on
behalf of him.

In the absence of the man, the assistant told the villagers. Look at all
these monkeys in the big cage that the man has collected. I will sell
them to you at Rs35 and when the man returns from the city, you can sell
it to him for Rs50.”

The villagers squeezed up with all their savings and bought all the
monkeys.

Then they never saw the man nor his assistant, only monkeys everywhere!! !

Welcome to the “Stock” Market!!!!!

Inspiration??? You Decide

A man wanted to become a monk so he went to the monastery and talked to the head monk.
The head monk said, “You must take a vow of silence and can only say two words every three years.”
The man agreed and after the first 3 years, the head monk came to him and said, “What are your two words?”
“Food cold!” the man replied.
Three more years went by and the head monk came to him and said “What are your two words?”
“Robe dirty!” the man exclaimed.
Three more years went by and the head monk came to him and said, “What are your two words?”
“I quit!” said the man.
“Well,” the head monk replied, “I am not surprised. You have done nothing but complain ever since you got here!”
