This evening,
the Saptami moon rose softly—
waxing, glowing,
a little red, a little gold,
as if wrapped in a warm shawl of light.
I walked,
and the moon walked with me,
step by step,
branch by branch
through the quiet sky
like a quiet friend who needs no words.
Its light felt gentle,
like a smile placed
on the world
without anyone noticing.
I smiled, small and secret smile,
because the moon was walking with everyone,
yet so few looked up.
Heads down, thoughts loud,
some running,
some staring at their screens—
and I wondered,
“Do they see this?
Do they feel this soft beauty
touch their heart?”
They missed the free gift in the sky.
But I saw.
I felt wrapped in silver care.
I kept looking—
and the moon kept looking back.
A calm warmth spread inside me.
As if the Divine whispered,
“Hey Rimple… I am here.
I have always been here.
I have got you.”
I reached the temple gate,
folded my hands before
Ram, Lakshman, Janaki, Hanumanji.
The bells rang softly inside my heart. And walking home,
these old words came floating back
like petals on quiet water:
Sita followed Ram
the way Rohini follows the moon,
never leaving, never tiring,
held by a love brighter than light itself.
And suddenly
The moon was still there,
shining on me,
shining on the whole sleeping world,
a gentle lamp of grace.
It was blessing.
I walked on,
slow, peaceful, smiling,
the moon beside me,
the Divine above me,
and my heart quietly saying,
“This simple beauty
is enough.
This moment
is grace.”
In its tender glow
I felt safe,
I felt seen,
I felt loved without asking.
Thank you, beautiful moon.
Thank you, sweet Shri Ram.
Thank you, soft night
for teaching me once more
how to be simply, deeply,
here.
